Women’s Empowerment generally means women gaining power and living their own lives controlling it and making strategic choices. A woman is empowered to make her own decisions and does not depend on anyone. It means raising women through education, training, awareness, equal societal status, etc.
A woman does not need to depend on anyone if she acquires any skill, she can make her independent world. If a woman educates, she subsequently educates the whole of society.
It is now an important topic for the development of a country. The development of a country is defined as increasing the country’s assets, resources, and income, as well as managing risks. These things have been managed by men over the century, women were being neglected. But now society has been changed.
Why is empowering girls and women so important?
Empowering women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities, and countries. When women are safe, they can contribute to their work, and skills and reach their full potential to make anything possible and benefit societies and countries.
Empowerment can provided through education. It is the primary key to making anyone empowered. Girls who are educated can pursue meaningful work and contribute to the economy.

” I raise up my voice – not so I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard… we cannot succeed when half of us are held back.”
Another factor is Equal Opportunities in Society. When a woman is provided equal opportunity, then she can participate in everything and can promote gender equality. In the Quran, a woman is given a status above heaven. She has the right to kill her rapist and has the right that no one can touch her things without her prior permission.
In our society, there are still many issues related to women’s empowerment. Many people oppose the idea that women will work, and educate themselves.
Factors that prohibit women’s empowerment:-
- Patriarchal Attitudes
- Limited access to Education
- Economic Inequality
- Violence and Discrimination
- Traditional Gender Roles
- Lack of Legal and Political Support
- Limited Mobility
Overall, women’s empowerment is a crucial issue in India as it is in many other parts of the world. Achieving true empowerment for women requires addressing a range of issues from violence and discrimination to economic and political barriers.
While progress has been made in some areas, there is still much work to be done to ensure that women in India have the power and resources they need to control their own lives and make their own decision.
